Reflecting shadows

Two for one: Weekend Reflections and Shadow Shot Sunday!   A handmade kaleidoscope on the cherry table in the eastern nook of the house gives color to the shadows of the lamp and rosemary plant

Yes, the sun is shining again today, and to help you understand why I seem to harp on sunny days here is a statistic from today's Kalamazoo Gazette.  The average number of sunny days a year in Southwest Michigan is between 83 and 116.  Yikes, nowhere near even half!  Hmmmm, maybe I should count up how many times my blog has featured sun in the past year.

  1. The handmade kaleidoscope looks interesting - the sunny days are a bit thin on the ground over here also - but I must say we have had three glorious days away walking in Wales - misty starts and then wall to wall sunshine - our batteries are recharged again!!

  2. I have a kaleidoscope that is very similar. I'm not seeing the rosemary plant, but no mind, your reflections and shadows are mysterious and lovely. sunny days are welcome, and our temps here in SE Wisconsin are 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. what's going on? I enjoy your blog. have a super week.

  4. That's gorgeous! Less than half the year is sunny where you live? Seriously? Gosh that would drive me nutty! I love my sunshine and start to get grumpy if it vanishes for too long. So I would be an annoying grumpy thing for the majority of the time if I lived in your area! Have a great week. With some sunshine hopefully :)

  5. Lovely, lovely. I love the kaleidoscope and the beautiful reflection it makes. My daughter's boyfriend lives on a farm and has been bringing me fresh eggs too--they do taste different from the ones I buy at the store. Mickie :)
