Identified by the Michigan reviewer for the Breat Backyard Bird Count as a pair of Purple Finch. He had questioned my identification since they are not usually found here.
I was excited to see the purple finch since they have been driven out by the house finches over here. Could also be a juvenile. I love how you caught the brown purple finch with a seed in its beak!
The female has been confirmed as a Purple Finch (by the Great Backyard Bird Count Michigan reviewer), but I am still not sure about the male.
