Mellow Yellow for ABC Wednesday
It is great to be greeted by the mellow yellow of the kitchen windows as we trudge through the early dark and then gathering light of winter mornings in Michigan. Lake effect snow came again yesterday undoing the browns opened up by the rains of New Year's Eve and Day.
I was honored to host Y-day on ABC Wednesday, but I forgot to post that great song of my youth, YaketyYak by the Coasters. Here is an out take version from You Tube.
And the origin of Mellow Yellow by Donovan also comes from later in my youth (i.e. I was still under 30!) Hear it now on You Tube.
And please enjoy more Y blogs on ABY Wednesday!

good choices of songs. Oh, and great intro, and a nice window.

Great shot! I'm humming 'mellow yellow' now and probably will be til the next song moves it further back. :) Enjoyed the post!
ReplyDeleteYakety Yak, don't talk back!! I remember that, and The Coasters. And of course Donovan, quite rightly!
ReplyDeleteFun.

a yellow light is always so warm looking (unlike that nasty new lightbulbs with the cold white glare)
ReplyDeleteNeat shot, Helen!
