Equal time for the Cardinals

These cardinals saw that bluejay in the header and staged a sit in for equal time. So here they are: fire in midst of ice!

Gorgeous fire amongst the ice. It's been a very long time since I have been blessed with the sight of a cardinal. Thanks for sharing...your bluejay is a regular comedian, isn't he!

A note about the area:
It is called Michiana by us locals and is an easily accessible getaway spot for people from Chicago and South Bend. In fact growing up in South Bend, this is where we came for weekend fun -- a picnic along a tree-lined road or at a Lake Michigan beach. Now people come from all over the country to the many retreat centers for which Fabius is somewhat famous: St. Gregory's Abbey, the Fetzer Institute's Gilchrist, the Mennonite Hermitage, Apple Farm, and the Sound Peace Chamber inspired by Joseph Riel.
